On February 14, 2025, I released my most personal project to date—my EP, STHENHLE. The title itself holds deep meaning, combining my real name, Sthembiso, and my ex-fiancée’s name, Zinhle. This EP is not just a collection of songs; it’s a raw, honest reflection of our love story—the good, the bad, and the lessons learned.
At its core, STHENHLE is about love, transformation, mistakes, and growth. It captures my journey with Zinhle, from the moment I met her to how she changed me, the mistakes I made, and the lessons I had to learn the hard way.
The Tracks That Tell the Story
Each of the six tracks plays a role in narrating this deeply personal journey.
1. “Thank U Zee” – The opening track is a heartfelt tribute to Zinhle. “Zee” was my nickname for her, and this song reflects on her impact on my life. It captures the moment I first asked her out and how she became the woman who reshaped my mindset.
2. “Cheese Girl” – A sharp contrast to the first track, this song tells the story of temptation and betrayal. It’s about the time I cheated on Zinhle with a wealthy girl, lured by luxury and status. The song doesn’t glorify the experience—it exposes the emptiness of materialistic desires.
3. “NANO” – Nano means “baby,” and this song is a pure, heartfelt love letter to Zinhle. It’s about the deep affection, admiration, and devotion I felt for her—the moments that made our relationship so special.
4. “End of the Road” – This is my apology song. It’s the moment in the EP where I take full responsibility for my actions. I acknowledge the pain I caused and reflect on what I lost due to my own mistakes. It’s emotional, raw, and deeply personal.
5. “La Chica de Cancún” – A bold, experimental track that is entirely in Latin. This song steps out of my usual sound and tells a different cheating story—one that happened on an international trip. The switch in language symbolizes being in a foreign place, caught up in temptation, reflecting another chapter of my infidelity.
6. “Nakulaba” – Another love song for Zinhle, this track reflects on the intense love and deep connection we shared. It’s a mix of emotions—love, regret, and longing—serving as a bittersweet conclusion to our story.
Why STHENHLE Matters
This EP isn’t just about my relationship with Zinhle—it’s about personal evolution. It’s about a man who had the wrong mindset about love, made mistakes, and had to face the consequences. But most importantly, it’s about how one woman’s love had the power to change me.
With this project, I wanted to be real with my audience. Love is messy. People make mistakes. But through pain and regret, we grow.
STHENHLE is my truth, my apology, and my tribute to a woman who meant everything to me.
This is not just an EP—it’s a chapter of my life in music.
