B Major SA started his musical journey at a young age, inspired by the rich musical heritage of South Africa and his late father, Michael Martin, a renowned jazz pianist. His father’s influence was pivotal, gifting him his first piano and a passion for music that has only grown stronger over the years. Young Bjorn used his older sister’s computer to run Fruity Loops Studio, where he began crafting his early beats.

Over the years, B Major SA has honed his craft, drawing influences from traditional African sounds, contemporary electronic music, and global pop trends. His ability to fuse these diverse elements into cohesive, captivating tracks has set him apart in the competitive industry. He is particularly well-known for playing soulful chords on the piano, a skill he often shares with friends and aspiring producers, some of whom have gone on to make significant contributions to the music scene.

He is from Mitchell Plain, tafelsig which is the local suburbs of cape town. Major attended high school at Cedar High school of the Arts in Rocklands where he further nurtured his talented, meeting friends and people who shared the same interest as him. Although music was a subject on high school he never took music as a subject ever since he started high school and later on wanted to join the music class but got kicked out of class because the teacher never saw him attend a music lesson and he was immediately told to leave the class assuming he didn’t know anything but he knew about more than the students because the next day he composed an original jazz walking bass type of song for the school jazz band and got big respect from the students and music teacher.

This year, Major’s work has been acknowledged with another prestigious award nomination. In 2021, he was nominated for the 021 Music Awards for his single “Lemonade,” taken from his “Lemonade” EP. The following year, he received a nomination at the Cape Town Artist Awards, further solidifying his status as a rising star in South Africa’s music industry.

B Major SA’s recent album, “Matters of the Heart,” has been a significant factor in his rising acclaim. The album features collaborations with various artists and showcases his versatility and creativity as a producer. Tracks like “Lemonade” and “Another Life” have received substantial airplay overseas and critical praise, further cementing his reputation as a talented and innovative producer.
