The Rebuild Site CIC has a community-centric approach. Our mission is to inspire individuals to reconsider their approach to material usage and salvage

discarded materials. We aim to maximize the reuse of surplus and ‘almost-new’ materials. This way, we aim to generate value

from what is commonly perceived as waste.

Susan’s farm is a charity that focuses on education for adults and young people with learning

difficulties through working and experience in farming. Susan’s Farm used materials from Rebuild to create a small goose shelter. This provides shelter from the weather as well as keeping geese safe from potential predators.

They have also used Rebuilds Materials to create some small Christmas crafts using plant pots and tiles.

“As a charity, we are working at times on a very small budget, so the fact that you are able to support community projects is a massive bonus.”

Patterdale School Chicken Coop https://www.rebuildsite.co.uk/2021/09/17/patterdale-school-chicken-coop/ Fri, 17 Sep 2021 08:57:57 +0000 https://rebuildsite.co.uk/?p=390 ... Read more »]]> Patterdale School started a Chicken project as a way to get children who were reluctant to come back to school after lockdown back in. The egg hatching project gave them an incentive to return. They set up ‘chick cam’ so the children could watch them hatch and grow out of school hours.

Each day as they grew bigger the chickens would have a time when they were allowed to wander around the classrooms being held by the children and as they got bigger flutter up onto their desks.

The children have become so attached to them that the school now needs to build a permanent, predator proof coop.

We were able to supply all the materials with surplus donated from construction sites.
