Who’s your favourite hip hop artist?
Vast Aire
Describe your first memory of hip hop?
My first memory of hip hop is probably that of my brother introducing me to some great underground artists while I was still in nursery school, with punchline after punchline going over my head – well for the most part. After that it would also be the music videos by 2Pac, The Notorious, Kriss Kross and Naughty by Nature on MTV.
If you could do anything with Nicki Minaj, what would it be?
[laughs] Well after acquainting her with some grammar and language lessons, I would ask her to re-enact the moves from the ‘Massive Attack’ music video for me; and then of course one thing would lead to another.
List your top five favourite hip hop songs of all time.
This is a near impossible question for a hip hop head like myself, so off the top of my head, in no particular order:
‘Step-Father Factory’ – El-P
‘’Pigeon’ – Cannibal Ox
‘Work’ – RJD2
‘Blue Flowers’ – Dr Octagon
‘Juicy’ – The Notorious B.I.G.
What’s your idea of an ideal date?
I’m not picky when it comes to dates, but I would like to think up a meal to make with the person. After cooking it together, sit down and have a long conversation away from any interruptions and then watch a movie; nothing complicated.
