Blxckie has finally dropped off his new EP called 4LUV as promised… This 6 track project is said to find him exploring the dynamics of romantic love. “So many open wounds but I’m still holding on,” he declares on the song ‘your all’. The whole EP’s experience is another testament to his diversity as an artist as many of us have gotten accustomed to not being able to genre-label his artistry but this new experience definitely caters to a specific narrative that includes heartbreak and promises as topics for example… Its so good and the pictures that Blxckie paints with each delivered record will surely get many in their feels and at the same time evoke listening pleasures from beginning to end.
The production is equally as sparse: snares and kicks playing quietly in the background while Blxckie waxes lyrical about love’s different dimensions. The dearth of features (Nicole Elocin shows up on “fortune teller” and is the solitary guest) gives the young rapper a vast canvas for meditation on love, its loss, and its captivating power
